TRANSFER COFFINS
For the shipment of coffins abroad, an export declaration is required by Customs. This procedure must be carried out by a licensed customs broker or a freight forwarding agency, hired by the passenger or client. It cannot be performed directly by a private individual.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR THE TRANSPORT OF COFFINS AND BONE REMAINS
Death Certificate
Medical Certificate stating that the cause of death was not due to an infectious-contagious disease. The transport of deceased individuals who passed away from such causes is prohibited. This certificate must include the signature, stamp, and license number of the attending physician and must be certified by the Ministry of Health (Av. 9 de Julio and Moreno).
Transfer Certificate issued by the cemetery authority of the place where the death occurred.
Thanatopraxy Certificate (embalming).
Sworn Declaration of Packaging issued by the funeral home, confirming that the body is placed in a vault-grade coffin, fully sealed and prepared for air transport, including a gas release valve.
Certification of the Death Certificate by the Ministry of the Interior.
Visa or authorization from the Consulate of the destination country, or Hague Apostille.
Apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Shipment Certificate issued by the Frontier Health Office (located at Ezeiza International Airport or Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires).

Please consult the embassy or consulate of the destination country to verify any specific entry requirements. The client / agent / shipper is responsible for complying with ALL regulations, policies, and restrictions of the destination state or country.
PACKAGING
The coffin must be placed inside a wooden crate to conceal its contents.
A label must be affixed to the packaging clearly displaying the full details of both the sender and the recipient.
